Notable Appearances
Playing at the Blue Note
On Sunday, July 10 we had the honor of playing at the famous "Blue Note" in New York City.
The big night of the Billboards
On Thursday, April 28, 2005 I had the chance of attending the Latin Billboard Awards in Miami. As you know our CD "Cantos de Agua Dulce" was noninated in the category of Best Lain Jazz album of the year. And eventhough the award went to the great Paco de Lucia, I felt, somehow, as a winner my self. Just to be there, nominated among some of the best musicians in latin music, all of them with a long carear it made me feel very proud.
Gema y Pavel.
I know this space is here for me to write about the notable Appearances I have, but in this ocassion I have to tell you how wonderful it was to see the cuban duet "Gema y Pavel" for the first time in New York last March 21, 2005.
A thousand "Tesoros" in Texas
On March 16th 2005, we had our first show in Austin Texas, in a store called" Tesoros" (Treasures). It sure was full of little treasures from South America and beautiful art pieces hand-made in Colombia,Mexico and Guatemala; But the most valued treasure to me was to see so many people entering that door to sit on the floor right next to the stage to hear our music.
Singing for Isabel Allende
On Friday, november 12 2004, I was invited by the SIBL Project to participate at a very special event to commemorate the 20th aniversary of the California Public libraries in San jose, California. Isabel Allende was the special guest of the night and to surprise her, they wanted me to sing the song I composed for her and her daughter "Paula Ausente". I can't express what I felt being there in the same stage, sitting right next to Isabel and singing the song for her.
